“How My Cultural Heritage Has Contributed to San Antonio”
Ashley Guerra
Southwest High School, 9th Grade
The person that influences the culture of San Antonio, Texas is my father. To me it is my father because with out him we would not be here and we will not have electricity in malls, schools, houses, Wal-mart, H.E.B, and etc.... When I was born he was not there to see me because he was in the Desert Storm war. He was also in the current war in Iraq for about a year. When he came back he got on his feet to go work as an electrician. He is currently working at Bexar Electric and I know he is trying his best to support the family. It may be hard for him because he is raising two girls on his own and I know for sure he is doing the best he can do. He has been working at the new mall they are opening by Fiesta Texas, and we worked at the new Wal-mart. With out him we would not have light to see what we are buying. Be lucky because those guys work as hard as they can to open places for us on time. It is hard doing things as a single parent. Just be happy you got light to see things around the house or the mall.
