The Alamo Community College District awarded six Scholarships to the winners of the San Antonio Founders Day Essay Contest during the Morning Program October 22, 2005. Winning students ranged from 6th to 12th grade. No award was made for 8th grade. The scholarships will be used immediately after the students graduate from high school. See list of winners.
Roland C. DuBay, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement for ACCD made all the presentations.
Each winner received a $1,000 scholarship. The winners, along with the honorable mention students, received certificates, and the new book, San Antonio: Then and Now, autographed by its author, Paula Allen.
