Following the morning program the fun continues in San Pedro Springs Park.
The Children’s Area, or the “Explorers’ Hide-Away,” focused on fun with Passaportes, Painting in the Park, and other fund things to do.
In addition to the forty plus Culture and History Exhibits around the lake, there was the History Trail: incorporating “Historicand Memorable Events,” “Military and Native Americans,” “The Waters” of San Pedro Springs Park, “Fun in the Park,” “The Gardens,” and "Myths and Legends."
Other participants included: the Buffalo Soldiers Encampment, San Antonio Living History, a Cattle Trail Chuck Wagon, and a Model Rail Roaders Miniature Train.
The Friends of San Pedro Springs Snack Bar was open selling food and beverages. Some families packed a lunch for a festive “Picnic in the Park,” on the lush green lawns and under the ancient live oak trees. No alcohol is permitted in the park.
