Trinity University Chamber Singers, under the direction
of conductor, Dr. Gary Seighman.
The Trinity University Chamber Singers have a rich musical history and belong to a choral program that remains one of the oldest institutions at the university, dating back to the nineteenth century. Comprised of approximately 25 singers of diverse backgrounds and majors from across the university, the ensemble’s repertoire is equally wide-ranging as it encompasses sacred and secular works from the Renaissance era to the 21st century. Its members, as part of the larger Trinity Choir, have performed at numerous conventions over the decades and have toured extensively throughout North America and Europe.
Gary Seighman is the newly appointed Director of Choral Activities at Trinity University. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Seighman received music degrees from Westminster Choir College, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Maryland. A highly versatile director, he has formally taught all age levels in both public and private schools. Prior to teaching at Trinity, Dr. Seighman conducted the professional parish choir at Church of the Ascension and Saint Agnes in Washington, DC. In addition to conducting, he has performed extensively as a tenor soloist throughout the United States and has published several articles on the choral art.
